Dress Up Your Yard

Whether your property consists of fifty acres or a small suburban lot, much of the value of the package you’re selling is in the land itself. If your yard is a well-landscaped setting for your home, your chances of selling quickly will be greatly enhanced. Here are some ways you can shape up your yard:

1) Prune bushes and remove any overgrown or dying shrubs.

2) Keep your grass under control, even if it means mowing your lawn twice a week while your home is on the market. Keep lawn watered and consider placing sod in areas where grass refuses to grow.

3) An inch or two of pine bark mulch around your foundation shrubs makes an excellent first impression (and eliminates the need to weed).

4) Edge carefully where grass meets driveway or sidewalk and check patio areas to eliminate stubborn weeds that pop up between bricks or flagstones.

5) Brighten up your property with some colorful flowers.
