First off, get a good computer and printer. You can make great flyers, newsletters, brochures and business cards and lots more. Be ready to promote your business at every meeting or event. Keep flyers that tell what your business is and how it can help others. A computer and software and a good printer can change your appearance.
It is a must to have a cell phone and or pager. Get email address and have it reflect a professional business.
You should get a dedicated fax line. It takes away from your appearance to have to tell clients to wait a moment while you turn the fax on.
Give out business cards at every meeting. You can exchange them at all times. Nothing says I'm not a professional like not having business cards.
Attitude, dress and your overall appearance is crucial. When you meet someone, do you come across as friendly and helpful? Do you have a positive attitude? You never know what important role someone may play in your career at a later date. If you're looking at a house, do not have on too much gold and diamonds. Wear a suit or business attire to a meeting or business event. Dress for the occasion and remember you only get to make an impression once, so make it count.
