How to Attract a Drive-By Homebuyer

Some homebuyers will do a drive-by and check out the property to do a no obligation assessment. This will save them time and hassle and embarrassment of looking at a home they don't intend to buy. First impressions do count. A house with poor curb appeal can get your home crossed off the buyers list even though they didn’t step foot in the door. The potential sale can be lost in a matter of seconds.

Homes that appeal visually and are in good condition will attract buyers driving down the street. Any agent will tell you that great curb appeal will get potential buyers inside. Before you put your home on the market, stand back and look at your house as objectively as you can. Ask yourself and friends if they would buy your house.

Prepare the exterior of your house by landscaping, and new fence or roof. Fix the boarded up window, or the rusty guttering. Check the gutters, chimney exterior walls, cracks in the foundation, driveway surfacing. Store our get rid of garbage and debris, wash the windows and close the garage door.

Remember, this is how your home will introduce itself to the potential buyer. You have to have curb appeal. If there isn't, then you could lose your buyer without them even getting out of the car. Do what is necessary to make your house stand out from the competition. Make certain your house has a nice fresh, clean smell and very well maintained. Above all, make sure it has street appeal.
